IBIT Projects and Event ArchiveGE Panel for ACM Scott Stoddard, Executive Account Manager, GE Medical Systems GE visited Temple University to share their own experiences with the MIS students. The spoke about how they moved through GE and what they did before GE. They spoke about the Leadership program at GE and touched on some job openings there. The students received answers to their questions about GE and working in the IT field.
Microsoft presented a two day seminar on .Net technologies on August 14-15,2002. The seminar was intended to provide Temple faculty and students with a background in the technologies which is sufficient to facilitate the development of course materials, and potential research agendas. The seminar consisted mostly of lectures and discussions, but also included some hands-on demonstration projects. Specific topics included:
The instructor was Sheldon Fernandez of Infusion Development, an author of many books on .Net. Microsoft .NET Launch held at the Liacouras Center The launch of Microsoft's new development environment, Visual Studio .NET took place at the Liacouras Center on Temple University's main campus. All attendees received the full version of Visual Studio .NET Academic, a full version of Windows XP Professional, and other valuable items. Microsoft gave an overview of the .NET Framework and a live demonstration of Visual Studio .NET. The event also featured a live band, Hooter (Temple's Mascot), and food and drink. Over 1100 college students, high school students, and faculty members attended.

October 11, 2000 A ribbon-cutting ceremony announcing the Institute for Business and Information Technology and the formation of the formation of the Department of Management Information Systems was held on Wednesday, October 11, 2000. The keynote address was delivered by Paul Gray, Professor of Information Systems, Claremont Graduate University. The first floor lounge in Speakman Hall was full with guests, students, faculty and administrators. AACSB Continous Improvement Symposium Sept. 17-19, 2000 IBIT was invited to present at a session entitled "E-Business Continuous Improvement Initiatives - Fox School".
