Presentation is by invitation only Details and Brief Bio The pharmaceutical industry is characterized as highly scientific and technology intense. While information technology is deployed in a wide variety of ways, it has only been in recent years that the industry has leveraged it in areas other than research. This presentation will briefly describe the overall structure of the industry and the process of discovery through commercial marketing. Examples of the current use of information technology and future opportunities will then be discussed. Presentation is by invitation only. Mr. Fadem is responsible for providing information technology strategic direction to the Wyeth Corporation (formerly American Home Products) and its operating divisions. He also manages the Corporation's information technology shared services operations and technology organization and the business application solution units. Mr. Fadem joined the Corporation in September 1995 as head of Wyeth-Ayerst domestic information technology and was promoted to his current position in November 1997. Prior to joining Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories, Mr. Fadem spent twelve years with BankAmerica Corporation in a variety of information technology positions including: responsible for the development, maintenance, and operation of the Retail Bank's information technology systems; responsible for all business application development worldwide: and responsible for selection, development, and deployment of all hardware and system software. From 1971 to 1983 Mr. Fadem was employed by First Pennsylvania Bank N.A. where he served as Chief Information Officer from 1978 to 1983. |
